Characteristics of the grants:

The grants are learning agreements. The DEC will specify which URV modules you will be able to pass with the grades that you are awarded for equivalent modules at the other university. You will register at the URV. You can consult the list of partner universities and choose the four options that interest you most.

You can find opinions and advice about host universities from former DEC exchange students at the following link: https://goo.gl/DrPoS

ERASMUS (European Union)
- Placements of 5 or 10 months.
- Automatic grant if you are awarded a place. The amount of the grant varies according to the cost of living in the host country (determined by the European Union). The number of months funded varies annually depending on budget availability.
- You can apply for a supplementary grant from AGAUR

MOU (Latin America)
- Placements of 5 or 10 months.
- Automatic travel grant from the URV if you are awarded a place.
- You can apply for a supplementary scholarship from the Santander Bank for stays longer than 6 months, (check the list of affiliated universities).

ISEP (United States)
- 5 or 10-month placements.
- For bachelor's degree students only.
- You must demonstrate that you have level B2 in English by taking the TOEFL iBT exam.
- This exchange programme involves paying for accommodation and board at the home university, for medical insurance and a fee for registration on the ISEP mobility network programme.

SICUE (Espanya)
- 5 or 10-month placements without a grant at universities in Spain.

Specific DEC requirements regarding study abroad:
These requirements apply to the Bachelor's Degrees in Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Audiovisual Communication, and to the Master's Degree in Strategic Communication in the Risk Society.

1. Priority will be given to students who have not previously studied abroad: however, if places are available, students who have already completed an Erasmus, MOU or Sicue placement may undertake another one.

2. Students can only undertake study abroad placements during the fourth year of their bachelor's degree: To undertake a study abroad placement, students must have passed 100 credits of their bachelor's degree's core and compulsory modules by the time that they apply. Master's students are not subject to this requirement. The student's application must include an up-to-date academic transcript.

3. For Erasmus placements, students must take the language proficiency test if they do not have a language certificate, and the result of the test will be taken into account during the selection process: All students who wish to apply for an Erasmus scholarship and do not have a certificate with a level equivalent to those on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR scale from A1 to C2) must take the language level test (French for destinations in France; Italian for Italy; and English for all other countries). Some universities require a minimum language level, and if a student does not achieve this in the language placement test, they will have to provide proof that they are studying to reach it before their placement.

Required documentation:
Follow the instructions on the I-Center websit

Selection process:
Your academic transcript, language skills (for Erasmus/ISEP scholarships) and letter of motivation will be evaluated. If you apply for more than one programme, you can only accept one place and must decline any other offers.

Language level tests in October: If you wish to go to universities where classes are taught in French, English, German or Italian, you must take the language level tests in October, and your results will be taken into account during the selection process
